Insurance claims are one of the most visible and often most challenging responsibilities community association managers face in the day-to-day operation of community associations. While insurance is designed to protect the association, the claims process can quickly become complex, time-consuming, and, at times, adversarial for managers, boards, unit owners, and insurance professionals alike.
This course is designed specifically for community association managers working within common interest communities and will provide a practical, real-world overview of the claims management process. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how claims are initiated, investigated, and resolved, as well as the critical role community association managers play in facilitating communication and documentation throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
The session will also explore common challenges encountered in Connecticut community associations, including coordinating with multiple unit owner/tenants, managing expectations of boards and unit owners, and navigating coverage questions and carrier requirements. Emphasis will be placed on proactive strategies that community association managers can implement to streamline the process, reduce delays, and improve outcomes for their communities.
Through real-world examples and scenario-based discussion, attendees will leave with actionable tools and best practices to manage claims while minimizing disruption more effectively to the association.
