Whenever it rains, it can flood, regardless of your proximity to a body of water.
You don’t need to live on the coast to be at risk, which is why it’s essential to understand what types of hurricane damage are covered by your homeowners policy.
A standard flood insurance policy covers your home and contents when damage is caused by rising water. We work closely with Neptune Flood, who will help waterproof your assets by offering expanded, optional coverage that gives your family protection.

What’s covered?
- Dwelling/Building, which is the insurance on the primary home/building on the insured property.
- Personal Contents, which is the insurance that protects the possessions inside of your home.
Neptune Residential Flood offers coverage to protect you for items not covered in the NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program), such as:
- The contents of your basement
- Structures not attached to your home
- Garage
- Pool House
- Shed
- Grills & Pools
The coverage offered in a flood insurance policy may sound like the coverage you already have in your homeowners policy, but that’s not the case. It’s different than your homeowners insurance because a typical homeowners policy specifically excludes water damage that results from rising water. For the purpose of insurance, “rising” is the key word to distinguish flood damage from water damage.
Neptune offers coverage for commercial buildings, too!
- No Elevation Certificate, photos, or replacement cost documents needed.
- Building coverage up to $4,000,000
- Contents coverage up to $500,000
- Option to add $25,000 in Business Interruption insurance

- Windstorm coverage—This endorsement helps provide additional coverage for damage caused by high winds and hurricanes.
- Sewer and drain backup coverage—Heavy rains and flooding during hurricanes can cause sewer and drain backups, resulting in extensive damage and costly repairs. Adding this coverage to your homeowners insurance policy can help provide financial protection against this type of damage.
- Extended replacement cost coverage—In a catastrophic hurricane, the cost of rebuilding your home may exceed your homeowners insurance policy limits. Adding extended replacement cost coverage to your policy can provide additional coverage to help cover these costs.
